Why Board Result Websites Go Down on Result Day

Every year without fail, the same thing happens across Pakistan. Millions of students hit the BISE result websites at almost exactly the same time — the moment results are announced — and the websites buckle under the load. This is not a mystery. It is basic web traffic math.

A single BISE board website might get 50,000 visits on a normal day. On result day, that same website gets hit by 500,000 or even a million visits in the first few hours. Most board websites are not built to handle that kind of simultaneous traffic.

Fix 1: Wait and Try During Off-Peak Hours

This sounds too simple, but it works. The traffic surge on result day typically peaks between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, then again in the early evening. If you hit the website during those windows and get nothing, try again at:

• Early morning (5:00–7:00 AM) — almost nobody else is checking at this time
• Late night (11:00 PM–1:00 AM) — traffic drops significantly
• After 72 hours — if the result was just announced, many boards finish uploading all data within 48–72 hours

Set an alarm and try at 5:30 in the morning. The result will load in seconds when traffic is low.

Fix 2: Clear Browser Cache and Hard Refresh

Your browser saves (caches) website data to load pages faster. But if the website has updated its content since your browser last cached it, you might be seeing an outdated broken version.

To clear cache on Chrome (mobile or desktop):

1. Open Chrome settings (three dots in the top right)

Simply turning off WiFi and switching to your mobile data connection (4G/5G) often loads the exact same website perfectly. The reason: your mobile data uses a completely different network path to reach the website's server.

Fix 5: Use SMS to Get Your Result Instantly

Every major BISE board in Pakistan has an SMS result service. You do not need the internet at all — just send a text message from any mobile phone.

The general format is:

TYPE YOUR ROLL NUMBER and send to the board's SMS code

Common SMS codes for result checking:

• BISE Lahore: Send BISE<space>roll number to 8009
• BISE Multan: Check your board's official page for the current code
• BISE Faisalabad: Check bisefsd.edu.pk for current SMS codes
• FBISE: Send to their designated number
