How Long is the Matric Result Valid?

Your matric (SSC) result certificate does not expire. A 10th class certificate issued by any Pakistan BISE board remains valid permanently — whether it's from 2005 or 2026.

There is no official "expiry date" on a matric certificate in Pakistan.

For College and University Admission

While the certificate itself doesn't expire, individual institutions may set their own age or gap-year limits for admission:

• Intermediate colleges (FSc, ICS, ICOM): Most accept matric results from any year. However, some elite colleges prefer students who passed matric within the last 1–2 years.
• Universities: Typically require completion of intermediate within a certain number of years before university application. The matric result year itself rarely matters directly.
• Gap year policies: If you took a gap year after matric, colleges may ask for a gap year affidavit.

For Government Jobs

Government job applications in Pakistan (federal and provincial) accept matric certificates from any year. The FPSC (Federal Public Service Commission) and all provincial PSCs recognize matric certificates without expiry.

For Private Sector Employment

Most private employers in Pakistan accept matric certificates from any year. Verification is done through the issuing BISE board's records, which are maintained permanently.

For IBCC Attestation (Foreign Use)

IBCC attests matric certificates regardless of the year of issue. Whether your result is from 1995 or 2026, the attestation process is the same.

When You Might Need to "Refresh" Your Credentials

While your matric result never expires, there are situations where getting your original certificate re-issued might be needed:

• Lost original certificate: Apply to your BISE board for a duplicate (fee applies, typically PKR 500–2000)
• Name or date of birth correction: Contact the board for a correction form
• Deteriorated condition: Boards can issue a fresh certified copy

How to Get Your 2026 Matric Certificate

Your 10th class result 2026 will be announced on August 6, 2026. After the result:

1. DMC (Detailed Marks Certificate): Distributed through your school within 2–4 weeks of result
2. Original SSC Certificate: Available from your BISE board 4–8 weeks after result announcement
3. Migration Certificate: Required if you're applying to a college outside your board's jurisdiction
